2023 The Thief? Barossa Valley Shiraz

The Thief? honours Australian winemaking veteran, Natasha’s Great Great Grandfather and early settler John Mooney, known as ‘Walter’ who went to his grave in the late 1800’s, wrongly accused of stealing a neighbour’s cow. Established in the late 1990’s the single vineyard is sectioned into four blocks where variety is matched to site to hand craft wines of distinction.

A vibrant, deep crimson in the glass with aromas of ripe dark plums, blackberry and boysenberry fruits. Hints of spice, dried citrus rind, violets, cocoa powder, dried meats and earth. There is a bright mineral cadence here, an endearing savoury palate shape, powdery tannins and a lot of drinking enjoyment to be had
